VeChain, the blockchain network, has revealed its latest platform called VeBetterDAO, which aims to promote sustainability and grow the ecosystem while engaging and rewarding the community. This platform is an evolution of the Web3 for Better whitepaper, co-authored by VeChain and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), as part of their collaboration to harness blockchain technology’s potential for sustainability.
VeBetterDAO is a sustainability platform that incentivizes and rewards user activity to onboard enterprises and individuals in promoting sustainable practices. It is built to become a cross-industry sustainability decentralized application (dApp) ecosystem, driving the adoption of Web3 technology.
Sustainability encompasses economic, social, and environmental development across 17 areas, as defined by the Sustainable Development Goals. VeChain recognizes the regulatory aspect for enterprises in building sustainable practices and aims to reach one million active daily users in the future.
The VeBetterDAO platform employs the “X-2-Earn” strategy, where actions are rewarded through blockchain technology. The community can now explore the newly launched testnet, which includes new tokens, dApps, and a whitepaper. The platform will be launched in three phases: Pilot Show Alpha, Pilot Show Beta, and Go-Live Gala, with the final phase set to be completed by the end of June.
With the launch of VeBetterDAO, two new tokens are introduced: B3TR and VOT3. The B3TR token will have multiple functionalities within the ecosystem, while the VOT3 token will serve as the governance token. The VOT3 token can be redeemed 1:1 between B3TR and VOT3 through a dedicated swap pool.
To ensure wide distribution and engagement, VeChain plans to run a series of B3TR airdrop campaigns over the coming months, with one million B3TR tokens to be airdropped from February 28th to June 30th.
Following the news, the price of VeChain (VET) has surged by 6%, extending its weekly gains by more than 20%. The adoption of the new platform is expected to drive further growth for the VeChain ecosystem and the VET native token while promoting sustainability worldwide.
